Religious Liberty

Matthew 16:26

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew 22:21

They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

I.              Evaluate all that happens to you in life from an eternal perspective.  How does this affect your values and decisions?

II.            Where is Your Allegiance?

From the U.S. Travel.State.Gov

“Dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country. They are required to obey the laws of both countries, and either country has the right to enforce its laws Dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country. They are required to obey the laws of both countries, and either country has the right to enforce its laws”.

III.          Dual Citizenship of this World and Heaven

As a Christian, are we not a “Dual Citizen”?  This can cause conflicts.  Read what our government says about this:  “. It is important to note the problems attendant to dual nationality. Claims of other countries upon U.S. dual-nationals often place them in situations where their obligations to one country are in conflict with the laws of the other”.

IV.  Our Citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven requires our ultimate obedience and commitment be pledged to God and His law.

V.  We are pilgrims on a journey and this world is             not our home we are just passing through.  To make the world your home is to forget your eternal inheritance with Christ in Heaven. Therefore, do not love the world.
